I agree that technology has a damaging spiritual effect in many ways. Although back breaking work without mechanical help degrades too. I have never felt at home in modernity. I am reading about David Jones at the moment.
Many of the writers at the turn of the 20th century were particularly aware of the threat of technology as they witnessed its culture-changing and revolutionary effect. Tolkien in his own way deplored the loss of an older consciousness.
I read your posts on Alex Berenson's substack Unreported Truths.I began following him during the Covid scare and I applauded his stance on free speech. But now, with his hideous endorsement of the genocide in Gaza, I decided to try your substack instead. I am a Jew and it's unbearable that these Jews and Christians can't see murder and objecting to murder for what it is.Thank you for speaking up for me.
